Sunday November 24th: FLC 100th Anniversary Celebration

Nearly 100 years ago – on November 23, 1919 – a group of Finns met and made the decision to form the Finnish Lutheran Church in Seattle. We will commemorate this historical meeting by celebrating the 100th Anniversary of our church on November 24 with a special service at 10:00 AM.  Following the service there will be a luncheon with program at Leif Erikson Hall in Seattle 12:30 PM – 3 PM.

Guests include Pastor Auvo Naukkarinen and Pastor Nina Tetri-Mustonen from Finland, Pastor Jarmo Tarkki from California, Pastor Jukka Joensuu from Vancouver, B.C., and most of the local pastors who have served at the church. A representative from the Finnish Embassy and local Honorary Consuls will also be present.

(See the History page on this site for more information about the church’s past.)
